DJ Mace & Son is an established and growing company based in Reading, but servicing clients on a national basis. We value all employees’ contributions and have a genuine desire to ensure everyone feels part of a team and appreciated for their work. Furthermore, we value giving our customers the highest quality of work and service.
We are a part of a larger group of mechanical and electrical (M&E), and facilities management (FM) companies named Advantos Group. The vision of the group is to create the UK’s favourite platform for independent M&E & FM companies. We will make a difference by providing outstanding work to our customers, and an excellent work environment for our employees. By collaborating and supporting each other we will be stronger together. Along with our sister companies we have 100+ skilled and qualified field- staff who we can call upon as necessary to fulfil larger projects.
DJ Mace & Son (Electrical Contractors) Limited was started in 1977 by David Mace after working for Callas Sons & May within Reading for 20 years. The business grew slowly, building a close and loyal customer base, some of whom the company still work with today.
In 1982, the company became member a the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Engineers (NICEIC) holding ‘Approved Contractor’ status, a position still held today.
In 1985 David’s son, Philip, joined as an apprentice and completed a full 5-year apprenticeship becoming a fully qualified electrician. Philip worked in the company until 1991 when a downturn in the industry meant that he finds work elsewhere.
In 2001 Philip re-joined the business having gained a wealth of experience working for a larger company in sales and management. From this point on, the company steadily grew and in 2003 David retired from the management of the company and Philip took over.
